The City of New York today honored former Senator Herbert H. Lehman with the dedication of a 622-unit public housing project bearing his name. Mayor Robert F. Wagner and other city officials took part in the ceremony at the low-rent project.

In an address at the ceremony, Housing Authority Chairman William Reid said: “It is fitting and proper that a low-rent public housing development should be named in honor or Herbert H. Lehman. No one was ever more dedicated to the cause of helping families of low income than this great American.”
