Israel continued today to pursue its persistent drive to establish a link with the six-nation European Market. The European Economic Community’s Council of Ministers is scheduled to meet next month, when Israel’s efforts for the establishment of such a relationship are expected to be discussed again.

Today, Amiel Najar, Israel’s Ambassador to the EEC, held a lengthy meeting with Jean Rey, a member of the EEC commission which is considering Israel’s proposals to Euromart. Mr. Najar was accompanied to the conference with M. Rey by his deputy, Ram Nigrad. The latter is returning to Jerusalem to assume the post of director of the economic department of Israel’s Foreign Ministry.
