Calling upon the United Nations to put its weight behind a “fruitful Arab-Israeli dialogue,” Michael S. Comay, Israel’s permanent representative to the UN, reiterated this weekend Israel’s call for resolving the Arab-Israeli differences “across the negotiating table.” Mr. Comay repeated Israel’s request for peace talks with the Arab states at the end of the General Assembly debate in replying to attacks by three speakers–Talib Hussein Shabib, Foreign Minister of Iraq; Moshin Al-Aini, of Yemen; and Salah El-Dine Tarazi of Syria.
