Israel Minister of Justice Dr. Dov Joseph, on his way back to Israel from the Argentine inauguration, met here with the Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, Supreme Court Justices, and other leaders.
Accompanied by Israel Embassy Minister Mordechai Gazit, Dr. Joseph called on Attorney General Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy revealed that he had a personal interest in Israel and visited the country three times. The first visit was during the Independence War when he went to Jerusalem in a British tank. He made two subsequent visits after Independence, one, in 1951, with his brother, the President.
Dr. Joseph also met with Chief Justice Earl Warren and Associate Supreme Court Justice Arthur Goldberg, and former Justice Felix Frankfurter. A number of high officials attended a luncheon tendered by Ambassador Avraham Harman for Dr. Joseph. Addressing the luncheon, Dr. Joseph discussed the Israeli legal system, describing how British common law was based on Jewish Talmudic law.
