The growth of the Farband-Labor Zionist Organization, a fraternal order, from a handful of members with total capital of $76 in 1913 to 40,000 members with liquid capital totaling $7,000,000 was reported here by Louis Segal, general secretary of the Farband at a press conference here in announcing plans for the Farband’s 50th jubilee convention to be held in New York beginning December 25. In its 50 years of existence, Mr. Segal reported, Farband has paid out more than $10,000,000 to members and beneficiaries.

Mr. Segal pledged Farband’s continued expansion in three areas of its program–national, Jewish education; aid to Israel; and serving as a bridge between Israel and the Jewish community in the United States.
