Israel’s Newest Cargo Ship Arrives in New York on Maiden Voyage

The Zim Lines’ newest cargo ship, the 9,600 deadweight ton S. S. Mazal, arrived in New York on her maiden voyage today. The 17 knot motor ship which was completed in France in the early part of January, has been assigned to Zim’s Pacific Star Line service between U. S. and Canadian East Coast ports and the Far East. The Mazal will sail on Tuesday for Manila.

The Mazal is the first of 20 new Zim passenger and cargo vessels scheduled for delivery during 1964. The next will be the 24,500 gross ton trans-Atlantic luxury liner, Shalom, now near completion in France. The Shalom is due in New York on her maiden voyage next April 30.
