Israel Minister Foresees End of Immigration Within Three Years

Barring unforeseen developments, present sources of immigration to Israel will end within three years, posing both national implications and manpower shortages; Labor Minister Yigal Allon, told the Knesset, Israel Parliament, today.

Announcing an increase in family allowances, the Labor Minister said families should be given moral and material encouragement to have more children. He also urged increased efficiency and productivity in the Israeli economy, which he called the “cardinal task” of Israel.
