With every division reporting sizable increases, the 1964 campaign of the Jewish Welfare Federation here reached a total of $739,200 by the drive’s closing dinner, and there were anticipations that contributions of approximately $20, 000 more may still be recorded before the drive is officially ended.
This year’s figure, thus far, announced by Sol Levine, co-chairman of the campaign, compares with the total of $676,192 raised in the entire drive last year. Nolan Glazer, vice-president of the Federation, told the Jewish community leaders at the annual dinner that strenuous efforts would be made by all to obtain the two extra $20, 000 anticipated.
