Twelve officers of the American Jewish Congress, headed by Dr. Joachim Frinz, president, went on trial today in Queens County Criminal Court for picketing the Jordanian Pavilion at the World’s Fair on May 25. All were charged with disorderly conduct. C.I. Dwork, AJCongress secretary, also was charged with resisting arrest. The trial was adjourned this afternoon until 2 p.m. tomorrow.
In a related action, Nahum Bernstein, a member of the organization’s governing council, testified at the New York City Council today in support of two resolutions before the Council calling for removal of the Jordanian mural from the World’s Fair.
