The Interracial Council for Business Opportunity and a group of 12 leading New York City commercial banks today announced a joint program to provide special assistance to Negro businessmen applying for business loans from banks.

The Interracial Council, which a spokesman described as “the nation’s first volunteer program of free direct technical assistance to underdeveloped business communities here in our own country,” is co-sponsored by the American Jewish Congress and the Urban League of Greater New York.
