East Germany Abolishes Statute of Limitations on War Crimes

The East German Government Friday approved a bill to abolish the statute of limitations for Nazis and war criminals, according to cable dispatches received here. The penal code, at present, is similar to West Germany’s, which provides that prosecution of crimes must be begun with 20 years. The statute of limitations covering war crimes expires next May 8.
