Jewish teachers in the Chicago Public School System will be excused from special teachers’ orientation sessions, to be held next Tuesday, Sept. 8, the day preceding the opening of the school term, because the second day of Rosh Ha shanah falls on that day, it was announced here today.

Rabbi Mordecai Simon, executive director of the Chicago Board of Rabbis, said the agreement not this point was reached in correspondence with the office of Dr. Benjamin C. Willis, general superintendent of the Chicago Public Schools. Rabbi Simon said that Jewish teachers will be afforded a brief period of orientation before the start of classes on Wednesday, September 9.
