Rep. Donald Rumsfeld, Illinois Republican, today asked the House of Representatives to condemn “the increasingly serious persecution of Jews within the Soviet Union.” He is the author of a pending resolution which would call on Russia to live up to its guarantee of religious freedom. He said that his constituents called his attention to anti-Jewish developments in Russia.
