Jewish Scientist Given ‘exceptional Service’ Award by Nasa

The National Aeronautic and Space Administration today conferred its “Exceptional Service Award” on I Edward Garrick, of Hampton, Va, chief of the Dynamic Loads Division of the Langley Research Center.

Mr. Garrick, a charter member of the Jewish Community Center of Newport News, Va., received the award for “sustained outstanding contributions” to the aeronautical and space sciences during 34 years of research in the two fields. The citation lauded his “exceptional ability to provide an academic environment and scholarly leadership, resulting in noteworthy contributions in many fields of aerospace technology.”
