The Haifa Institute of Technology opened its 41st academic year at its new campus on Mount Carmel today with more than 3,600 students, including 800 freshmen. A special course in agricultural engineering for students from developing countries was opened for the third year with 80 students.

Gen. Yaacov Dori, Technion president, told the first student assembly that he regretted that the Government was not giving “sufficient attention” to the institution and its needs. He urged more Government aid to “this, the only higher institute for technological education in Israel.”
