Brazil Names Ambassador to Israel; Place Was Vacant for Seven Months

President Castelo Branco named Aloisio Regis Bitencourt, a career diplomat, today as Brazil’s Ambassador to Israel. The nomination must be approved by the Senate. Brazil has not had an ambassador in Israel since the present government here came to power seven months ago and the former ambassador was recalled from Israel.

Brazil’s Minister of Labor Arnaldo Sussekind has been invited for an official visit to Israel. Israel’s Ambassador Yossef Nahmias extended the invitation on behalf of the Israeli Government. No date has been set for the visit.
