A total of 218 Jews emigrated to Israel from Chile during the past year, it was reported here today at the closing session of the 44th congress of the Chilean Zionist Federation. Another 300 persons are expected to leave for Israel during the next three months.
Herman Schachner was elected president of the Federation. Other officers elected included Amelia Fliman, and Leon Tchimino, vice-presidents; and Max Epstein, general secretary.
