Israel Government Appoints Inquiry Committee on ‘shalom’ Collision

Israel’s Transport Minister Israel Bar-Yohuda appointed an official committee of inquiry today into the causes and circumstances of the collision last week between the Zim liner Shalom and the Norwegian freighter, Stolt Dagali off the coast of New Jersey.

Israel Auerbach, head of the shipping and ports division of the Transport Ministry, will serve as chairman of the committee which will also include I. Mintz, the ministry legal adviser, and M. Ackdish, shipping commissioner. Mr. Ackdish has already arrived in New York in connection with the inquiry.
