Israeli Minister of Foreign Trade Meets with Mexican Officials

Akiva Govrin, Israeli Minister of Foreign Trade, met here today with high officials of the Mexican Government to start discussions for tightening economic relations between Israel and Mexico. Mr. Govrin had come here as a special representative of the Israel Government to the inauguration of Mexico’s new President, Gustavo Diaz Ordaz.

Mr. Govrin was the guest of honor last night at a mass rally conducted by the Jewish community, commemorating the anniversary of the death of Dr. Chaim Weizmann and marking the adoption of the United Nations resolution for the partition of Palestine, passed by the UN General Assembly in 1947.
