Hamburg Senate Passes Bill to Extend Date of Statute of Limitations

The Hamburg Senate passed today a bill to extend the date of the statute of limitations for prosecution for crimes of murder and genocide. The draft will be submitted to the Federal government.

Under the measure, all prosecutions for crimes punishable by a maximum sentence of life imprisonment would be extended from the present 20 years to 30 years.
