Two Montreal Jewish Leaders Named Advisors on Protestant School Board

Ben Beutel, representing the eastern region of the Canadian Jewish Congress, and Irving Maklan, of the Montreal YM-YWHA, were named by their respective organizations today as the Jewish members of an advisory committee being established here by the Protestant School Board of Greater Montreal.

The Board had been requested by the Quebec Ministry of Education to propose plans for the development of regional high school facilities, and has in turn, invited various community, ethnic and religious groups here to help develop such plans. Mr. Beutel is chairman of the education committee of the CJC’s eastern region.
