The first college course of the kind ever conducted in this country was launched here today by Gratz College, when classes were begun in a course on synagogue administration.

A three-year program has been projected for the course, which will include three basic studies. These will deal with the structure of the American Jewish community, contemporary philosophies of Judaism, and a survey of Jewish history. In addition, there will be studies in business administration of synagogues. Students, according to the college, will be required to meet certain minimum standards in Hebrew language and literature.
