Members of the United Synagogue Youth Movement–affiliated with Conservative Judaism–staged a “pray-in” and a demonstration here yesterday to call the attention of the world to the persecution of Russian Jewry in the Soviet Union.

About 500 of the youths gathered at the Sutton Place Synagogue, near the United Nations, where they prayed and adopted a resolution calling on the United States Government and peoples around the world to come to the aid of religious Jews in the USSR. After the “pray-in,” the group marched to the Dag Hammar skjold Plaza, to emphasize its protests against the Soviet Union and demands for action toward eliminating Soviet suppressions of Jewish religion and culture.
