The death sentence was demanded in a Cairo court yesterday against two West Germans, a man and his wife, accused of having “spied” for Israel, according to dispatches received here today from the Egyptian capital.

The couple, Wolfgang Lotz and Waldrud Martha Lotz, have been in jail since February when they were arrested on charges that, as “spies,” they had obtained secret military information for Israel and had tried to murder some of the German scientists at work on rockets and other advanced weapons.
