Israel Purchases Undisclosed Number of Military Helicopters in France

Israeli officials signed here today an agreement for the purchase of an undisclosed number of French-made Super-Frelon helicopters which can carry 35 soldiers and equipment plus a jeep and military supplies. The cost of the purchase of the military-type helicopter also was not disclosed.

The agreement was signed by Brig. A. Kashti, director-general of the Israel Defense Ministry and Admiral Mordehai Limon, the Ministry s European representative, Officials of Surf-Aviation, manufacturers of the helicopter signed for France.

The Helicopter, which is standard equipment in the French Army, can be used for combat as well as transport missions. Brig. Kashti is in Paris to attend the International Air Show. Also present are Brig. Ezer Weizmann, commander of the Israel Air Force, and an 80-man Israeli military mission.
