Isser Harel (Halperin), the former head of Israel’s security establishment, who resigned in 1963 after differences with former Premier Ben-Gurion over the evaluation of the work of German scientists employed in Egypt, was today appointed special adviser to Prime Minister Levi Eshkol. He succeeds Zeev Sharef who is a Mapai-Achdut Avoda alignment candidate for the Knesset, Israel’s Parliament.
