Senator Jacob K. Javits of New York was mentioned today by Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller as this state’s “favorite son” for the Vice-Presidential nomination of the Republican Party in 1968.
Commenting on speculation that Sen. Javits might be the candidate, Governor Rockefeller, here to attend ceremonies at the state agricultural college, said that the Jewish Senator is “one of the most highly respected members of the New York State governmental structure” and that he would be New York’s favorite for the nomination.
