U. S. Senator Wayne Morse, the Oregon Democrat heading a group of seven senators now visiting Israel, declared here today up on the conclusion of the visit by the American group that “the United States is Israel’s best friend in the free world.”
Mr. Morse and the other members of the U. S. Senate conferred today with Deputy Prime Minister Abba Eban, then were entertained by Foreign Minister Golda Meir. David Hacohen, chairman of the foreign affairs and security committee of the Knesset (Parliament), was host last night at a dinner in honor of the senators and the aides in their party.
