Brandeis University has received a $500, 000 gift from Stephen P. Mugar, a Massachusetts businessman, for the construction of a research center at the University which will bear the name of Benjamin Brown, a Boston attorney and a close friend of Mr. Mugar.
The new facility will house the research component of the Florence Neller Graduate School for Advanced Studies in Social Welfare of Brandeis University. Mr. Mugar, whose family fled Armenia in 1906, has given more than $4, 000, 000 to a number of New England educational institutions in recent years.
