A resolution on human rights offered by the World Jewish Congress was adopted by a large majority today by the general council of the United Nations Association of Britain and Northern Ireland. The action was taken at the Council’s annual meeting in Cambridge.
The resolution called on the British Government to ratify at the earliest possible time the United Nations international convention on elimination of all forms of racial discrimination. The delegates also approved another resolution, incorporating a World Jewish Congress amendment asking the British Government and the High Commissioner for Refugees to persuade West German authorities to implement indemnification arrangements for refugees in “the most liberal and speedy manner possible.”
