The first Jewish school in Germany since World War II opened here this week with 20 first grade students and 10 second grade students, served by two teachers.
The school was established by the Jewish community and is recognized by West German authorities as an elementary day school which non-Jewish children are permitted to attend. The school is operated on modern, rather than Orthodox lines. Classes are conducted in German, and Hebrew is the main foreign language.
