The Jewish Telegraphic Agency opened a private leased-wire circuit today for the transmission of the JTA daily news report to clients on the Eastern seaboard. The 10-hour new opened with clients in New York City and Washington and with facilities for extension into Newark, Camden, Trenton, Philadelphia and Baltimore.
The full foreign and domestic news report of JTA will be moved on this circuit six days a week, considerably speeding up the transmission and reception of information on Jewish news developments. The circuit equipment has been made compatible with the JTA radio and cable printers so that punched tape wil be interchangeable from one circuit to another and news stories can be transmitted to JTA clients throughout the world in a matter of moments.
