Senator Abraham Ribicoff, of Connecticut, urged to night that the United States and the Soviet Union use their influence to end the arms race in the Middle East. He spoke at a dinner of the Society of Founders of the American Friends of the Hebrew University at which Samuel H. Daroff, of Philadelphia, was presented with the Scopus Award, the highest honor of the American Friends.
In making the presentation, Nathaniel L, Goldstein, president of the American Friends, told the 500 guests at the dinner that the award was intended to honor not only Mr. Daroff, but also his brothers, Michael and Joseph, for their long service to the Hebrew University and to Israel. Mr. Goldstein announced that a new science building at the university will be named the Daroff Center for Isotope Research in honor of the Daroff family.
