The largest number of rabbinical students in the 70-year history of Yeshiva University’s Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary have enrolled for the 1966-67 academic year, it was announced today by Norman Abrams, administrative director. He said enrollment will exceed 400, an increase of about 10 percent over last year.

The Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary is the nation’s leading school for training of orthodox rabbis. Since its establishment in 1896, it has ordained over 1,000 rabbis. Mr. Abrams noted that in the past about half of the students ordained at the Seminary actually became pulpit rabbis. The others entered the fields of Jewish education, communal service and related areas of activity.
