Dr. Immanuel Jakobovits, spiritual leader of the Fifth Avenue Synagogue, confirmed today to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that while in London recently he accepted “in principle” the nomination as Chief Rabbi of the British Common-wealth. His nomination will be ratified on September 11, when 250 representatives of synagogues and organizations meet in London.
