Dr. Kaliski Dies in New York; Was Governor of Hebrew University

Funeral services for Dr. David John Kaliski, former chief of the genitourinary clinic and associate surgeon at Mount Sinai Hospital, will be held here tomorrow. Dr. Kaliski died Saturday at the age of 82.

Born in New York, he received his medical education at Columbia University and served as an Army surgeon during the first world war. He was active in Jewish causes and at one time served as the president of the Zionist Organization of America. He was a governor of the Hebrew University and a founder of the American Friends of the Hebrew University. He was also a founder and leader of the American Jewish Physicians Committee.

Dr. Kaliski received his medical degree from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University in 1905. In World War I he was a contract surgeon for the Army. He was a member of the Academy of Medicine and the American Urological Association. He wrote many papers on his speciality for medical journals. In 1935 he was made a Chevalier of the Legion of Honor of France.
