Seven hundred athletes and sports organization delegates from 13 American countries, including the United States are expected to participate here in the Pan-American Maccabiad which will open tomorrow and last until next Sunday.
(In New York, Haskell Cohen, president of the United States Committee of Sports for Israel, announced today that 34 athletes will comprise the American team which will participate in the Pan-American Maccabiad at Sao Paulo. The U.S. participants, he said, will include 23 basketball players, two tennis players, six swimmers, a diver and two judo players.)
