Jordan told Arab leaders today that its armed forces were ready for any showdown with Israel and asked the Arab countries to be alert to “thwart Israel’s plotting,” it was reported here today from Amman.
Another dispatch received here reported that Syrian anti-air craft artillery fired today at an unarmed Israeli plane inside Israeli territory. The Israeli plane was not hit.
