The Mizrachi Women’s Organization of America today adopted a budget of $1,320,000 to meet child-care, social service and vocational education needs in Israel during the next twelve months, and to continue its educational and cultural activities in the U.S. through 1967.
Delegates representing 50,000 members of the organization in 37 states and the District of Columbia also voted $125,000 for the continuation of services to the disadvantaged. Other allocations made as the four day meeting reached its half-way mark were $200,000 to continue an afforestation, road building and land reclamation project in Galilee through the Jewish National Fund; $130,000 for cultural, educational and youth activities in the United States, and $100,000 for administrative expenses in Israel and the United States. Mrs. Aaron Leifer, of Brooklyn, was elected national president of the organization.
