Delegates to the 16th conference of the Women’s International Zionist Organization adopted today a resolution to raise an additional $1,000,000 to help meet the organization’s financial difficulties.

Mrs. Raya Jaglum, WIZO executive chairman, reported yesterday that WIZO had a current deficit of 5,200,000 pounds ($1,730,000). She asked the conference to approve a previously proposed suggestion that all WIZO kindergartens in Israel be turned over to local officials for the next two years while the organization concentrated on expansion of its day nurseries, youth clubs and vocational training schools.

The delegates approved resolutions urging aliyah among WIZO members and calling on members to send their children to Israel for a year of service to the Jewish State. They acted after hearing an address by Aryeh L. Pincus, Jewish Agency executive chairman. He said WIZO was particularly qualified to encourage aliyah because of the influence of its members on Jewish home environments.
