A Vienna jury court sentenced yesterday to a 10-year prison term a former SS man for participation in the mass-killing of Jews in the Treblinka death camp.
Leopold Lanz was found guilty of shooting two boys, 12 and 13 years of age, and of trampling pregnant women to death. The jury rejected the defense argument that Lanz acted under “order duress,” meaning he had no choice but to follow orders.
