Dr. Reuben Wallenrod, Noted U.S. Hebrew Educator and Author, Dead

Dr. Reuben Wallenrod, a Hebraic scholar, educator and author, died at his home in Silver Spring, Md., near here at the age of 65. He retired in 1964 from his post as professor of Hebrew at Brooklyn College.

Born in Vizno, Russia, Dr. Wallenrod emigrated to the United States in 1923 and joined the Brooklyn College faculty in 1939. He was named a full professor at the college in 1959. Among his published works were a book of literary criticism, “Pathways in Modern American Literature,” and a number of novels including “Dusk in the Catskills” and “The Lost Generation.”
