Five Jewish cadets will be commissioned as ensigns at commencement exercises tomorrow at the United States Merchant Marine Academy here. The Jewish cadets will receive specially inscribed copies of the Bible from the National Jewish Welfare Board’s Commission on Jewish Chaplaincy at baccalaureate services tomorrow.
Last June, 19 Jewish cadets were commissioned as officers by the U. S. Military Academy, at West Point, N. Y.; the U. S. Naval Academy, at Annapolis, Md.; the U.S. Air Force Academy, at Colorado Springs, Col.; and the Merchant Marine Academy here.
