Labor exchanges throughout Israel are scheduled to start paying unemployment compensation to the jobless next week, it was announced officially here today.
Registration entitling the jobless to receive compensation went into effect April 3. Thus far, the Labor Ministry said, only 2,403 have registered for these payments. That low figure, in the opinion of some officials, may indicate that unemployment in Israel is not as large as believed earlier.
