Rabbi Herbert Friedman, executive vice-chairman of the United Jewish Appeal, completed plans today with Israeli leaders for the formulation of an emergency campaign to raise funds for Israel, in view of the grave crisis in the Middle East, which has disrupted Israel’s economy. The plans call for leaders of the Jewish Agency to leave shortly for the major Jewish population centers in the U.S. where special meetings will be convened to deal with the crisis.
