Michael M. Sacher, treasurer of the Joint Palestine Appeal, reported today that the JPA emergency fund for Israel has brought in, in one week, 5,750,000 pounds ($15,100,000) and was approaching 6,000,000 pounds ($16,800,000). Britain’s Jewish population is 450,000 persons. The best results heretofore in collections for a normal full year has been about 3,000,000 pounds ($8,400,000).
