A joint program to bring Israeli and American Jewry closer together was informally approved today by officials of the Histadrut, Israel’s labor federation, and members of a visiting delegation of Conservative rabbis of the Rabbinical Assembly of America.

The proposal was the theme of speeches made by Aharon Becker, Histadrut Secretary-General, and Rabbi Wolfe Kelman of New York, executive vice-president of the rabbinical association, at a farewell party given by Mr. Becker to the visiting rabbis. They attended a seminar at Beth Berl arranged by the Histadrut. The program will begin with exchanges of scholars and joint adult education institutes.
