Abraham Avi Hai, Secretary of Public Affairs to the Prime Minister of Israel, called upon 200 delegates to the 7th annual convention of the Association of Orthodox Jewish Scientists to settle in Israel and to help the state “meet its new needs,” Mr. Hai said the scientists possessed a “unique potential” which could “blossom into great fruition in the environment of a new Israel with new borders, hopes and demands.”

The national association, with 1,000 members in a dozen chapters was founded 19 years ago by a group of Orthodox engineers, physicians, dentists, mathematicians and other scientists. It sponsors a wide range of academic, religious and social activities, lectures and publications.
