Jordanian museum officials are either unable or unwilling to report the whereabouts of four Dead Sea Scrolls found missing today, according to a group of Israeli experts who checked the contents of the Palestine Archaeological Museum in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Authorities in Jerusalem believe the Jordanians removed the scroll fragments for safekeeping just before the outbreak of the June war. The priceless materials are missing, but the showcases in which they were displayed are intact. Nothing in the museum was damaged or destroyed during the six days of fighting.
