The Executive Council of Australian Jewry published today an open letter to the Soviet leaders on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Bolshevik revolution, accusing them of “tyranny, racism and anti-Semitism” and pursuing “a policy of systematic encouragement and incitement of anti-Israel chauvinism among the Arabs.” The letter, signed by M. Ashkanasy, president of the Council, declared that the Soviet anniversary was “a time of apprehension” for Jews throughout the world.
